Year 9

English, Mathematics, French, Mandarin, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, History, Geography, Religious Studies, ICT, Physical Education, Music, Drama, Art and Sport are taught by specialist teachers. The academic tutor who oversees the academic progress for each individual student teaches PSHE and Study Skills.

During Year 9 the key priority is to lay excellent foundations for IGCSE and GCSE.

The Saturday Programme (SP) includes a combination of school activities. A detailed programme is produced and available for parents before the start of each term, and will include;

Curriculum Enrichment activities including, study skills, debating, computer animation, philosophy, current affairs, podcasting, entrepreneurship, academic fieldtrips, leadership training and cultural outings.

Sports fixtures which can be inter-school or internal House competitions. All students will have the opportunity to represent the school.

House competitions such as general knowledge, chess, and music.

Social Responsibility activities, where Le Regent students are able to participate in ‘Service’ activities within the local community.

Outdoor Education / Expeditions which will include walking, high ropes, orienteering, outdoor cooking, mountain biking, climbing and camp craft. The duration of the day depends on the nature and location of the activity.
