Welcome to Le Régent Crans Montana college
Dear Prospective Students and Families,
I welcome you with open arms to our website and I hope that it will convey our vision, strong academic ethos, relentless commitment and solid experience in building highly educated, courteous, compassionate, creative and courageous young citizens of the world, while enhancing the individuality of each and every pupil.
Prior to letting you embark on this virtual tour, I would like to highlight a few points: We are a British International School, “British” in its syllabus and “International” in the making of the teachers’ and students’ body. Students are drawn from around the world while most teachers, except those teaching languages, come from the United Kingdom (UK).
In September 2015 our brand new Junior School opened its doors to children aged 5 to 13 following the Year 1 to Year 9 UK syllabus (1st to 8th grade). Day students and boarders (56 beds available in the Junior School) are evolving in a convivial, family-like atmosphere encouraged and supported by highly qualified and experienced staff. A tight network of support (Form Tutors, the Headmaster and his wife) is in place to ensure the harmonious progress of each and every pupil. In September 2016 a Reception class for 4 year olds will also commence.
We are forging a continuum from the Junior School to the Senior School (children aged 13 to 18), opening in September 2016. Here we welcome day students and 150 boarders. Students will take the GCSE (General Certificate of Secondary Education) and the IGCSE (International General Certificate of Secondary Education) in May and June of every school year. We are currently applying for approval to run the IB diploma in the final two years of study.
We are academically ambitious and provide our students with all the support, help and guidance they need to ensure they develop their talents to the full and achieve results matching their potential. With this in mind, non-native English speakers receive lessons in English as an Additional Language. All students, Juniors and Seniors receive guidance towards academic excellence with a global dimension and a strong and enriching co-curricular emphasis. Our approach to sports and arts is in a similar vein as we strongly believe they are essential to a well-balanced and successful life. No one will ever fall behind and every pupil will be given all the tools to maximize their abilities and talents and achieve personal fulfilment at school and in society at large.
I feel very privileged to be leading Le Régent Crans-Montana College after 36 years as a teacher and Headmaster in England and in Switzerland. I can promise a memorable experience that will enrich our students’ life – as it has mine - for years to come. Do take the time to explore our website as it holds a wealth of information on the school and the staff.
I look forward to meeting you face to face and welcome you to our tight-knit community of inspirational teachers and aspirational pupils in a global and intimate learning environment.
